A month in the mouth of a lazy vegetarian.

One of the common responses I get from people when I tell them Ben and I are vegetarian is "but what do you eat?". So I thought that this month I'd have a go at documenting all the food I eat, all month and in the process share some lazy recipes, fast food options and food I actually cook with ingredients. My brother in law Mike has this book that I read a lot of when I stayed with them for a few weeks - it documents every single thing the author ate for a year and it's absolutely fascinating. But if this project ends up being boring and lame I'll only do a week :-)

Saturday September 1st

Breakfast with Adele...
Latte and toast with cinnamon sugar butter (did you know they sell that ready made now?! It's awesome!!).

Lunch with Ben and Fiona...
Leftover vegetable korma (from dinner on Friday at India Palace in Burnsville, which was SO GOOD) and leftover pasta with broccoli and balls* from Thursday.

*they don't have meat in them, so I guess that makes them just balls, rather than meatballs...

Game night with the Tennants! Traditional game night food... Papa Murphy's thin crust pizza with mushrooms and green olives. Also, cookies.

(And in the interest of accuracy, you should imagine twice the amount of pizza on the plate and another cookie that looked just like the first one. Because I had seconds :-)

Yep, I'm going to love this, I can tell. :)

I had one wish yesterday...okay maybe a hundred wishes yesterday. One of the hundred wishes was to be able to join you for Game Night at the Tennant's house. David had a sore throat, and that would have affected your menu to include only soup and ice cream if we would have gone. These are the only things that seems to numb the pain. With all that goes on during Game Night you would have probably caught the sore throat :) We will join you next time.

Looking forward to these posts. 93 (or so) vegetarian meals. I'm going to get an education!
