How do I love thee, soup? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth, and breadth, and height
My soul can reach, when running short of time
For being really simple, and ideal taste.
I love thee to the level of every day's
Most quiet (or sometimes loud) need, for dinner on the table.
I love thee freely, as mothers strive for healthy food.
I love thee purely as they turn from mac and cheese.
I love thee with the crockpot put to use
From the back of the cupboard, and with only a few
Bendy carrots and a cup of split peas
With an onion, potato and some stock. I love thee with the breath,
Smiles, tears of all my life, and if Fiona choose,
I shall love thee better if she actually eats you.

Yum! Soup is always a good option. I also love how it lasts for days and days as leftovers. Boyd made a really good egg drop soup last week, which was simple and warming. hugs.
Hi Tanya. I agree, soup is the best. It's really miraculous that you can make something not only edible, but delicious out of waaaay past it's best leftovers and veggies :-)
