We had a really wonderful day... here are some of the fun things we did!
Hammock!! Kids love hammocks. Here are some girls in a hammock. Aubrey (in the middle) is Fiona and Adele's friend and they always have a nice time together.
Camping Chair! Adele was a huge fan even after she fell out headfirst...
Hanging out and relaxing...
Boyd and Aubrey contemplating something important.
Adele and Ben
Playing soccer ball! This was mostly Fiona running around after the ball while the littler girls looked on but there was some sharing and passing involved.
Taking a walk to the waterfall...
Tanya and her little friends...
Tanya and Aubrey
Aubrey and Daddy
Waterfall
Tanya, Fiona, Ben, Jason and Aubrey climbed up the tower.
Aubrey walked up the whole way herself! Fiona congratulated her at the top...
(That's Gena in the red shirt, I am to the right holding Adele)
We headed back to camp to have some snacks and pitch Tanya's tent.
Everything is more fun when you're camping! Like making guacamole!
Jason made yummy fried green tomatoes!
Tanya made ratatouille which was delicious but I failed to take a picture of it.
And Gena made peach cobbler using a super magical recipe and cooked it in the hot fire coals.
We ate our dessert around the campfire...
And then it was time to go home. We put the girls in their pyjamas before we left and they both fell asleep on the way home and went straight to bed. The perfect end to a perfect day!! Thanks for a wonderful day you guys! We were so happy to day camp with you :-)
Edited to add: Some people were asking where we went... we were at Willow River State Park by Hudson in Wisconsin.

Day camping is FUN, I have no doubt about that. How does it compare to wild and crazy Game Night though? I happen to know that your guacamole is MOST delish when made at a Game Night event. That's what I thought :)
That looks place looks beautiful. Where are you? I want to go sometime to explore!
Where was this? Such a pretty waterfall... and I really love that blue shirt on you!
Lori, it is a little less wild and crazy, and the guacamole tastes more woodsy.
Cathy and Kate, it was Willow River State Park near Hudson, WI. http://dnr.wi.gov/org/land/parks/specific/willowriver/
Also, thanks Kate! That's my camping shirt ;-)
Fantastic photos of such happy memories! We had so much fun with you guys!
There are some fantastic pictures in here Louise. And I like the idea of camping without that nasty sleeping on the ground in a puddle part. I hope the ratatouille was made with real rat!
Thanks for posting the great pictures Louise! It certainly was a fun day!
I love the picture of Adele in the chair - she looks so happy! And was the guacamole made with real mole?
Hazel and Tanya, we are looking forward to doing it again soon!
Mobley and Mum - YES, the ratatouille was made with rat and the guacamole was made with mole. Just be grateful we didn't have spotted dick for dessert... though the cobbler wan't too impressed with his fate either.
Day camping! I think I could do that! The get kids to sleep in a tent is daunting to me.
